WHOIS Search
Search the WHOIS record for any domain name in seconds. FetchWhois performs a live RDAP search against the authoritative registry for the domain's TLD, returning registrar, key dates, nameservers, DNSSEC and available contact details.
How to search WHOIS records
Live results straight from the authoritative RDAP server.
Enter the domain to search
Type a domain name (for example, example.com) into the search box above. You can also paste a full URL — FetchWhois extracts just the domain name automatically.
WHOIS search queries RDAP live
FetchWhois searches the IANA bootstrap registry to find the authoritative RDAP server for the domain's TLD, then queries it in real time for the registration record.

The WHOIS search result includes registrar, creation/expiry/update dates, status codes, nameservers and DNSSEC. The raw RDAP JSON response is one click away for developers.
How WHOIS search works
A WHOIS search queries the registration database for a domain name. When you search WHOIS for a domain, you are asking the registry or registrar system to return the public record associated with that domain: who registered it, through which registrar, when it was created, when it expires, and what nameservers it uses.
FetchWhois performs every WHOIS search using the modern RDAP protocol rather than the legacy port-43 WHOIS system. RDAP returns data in structured JSON with consistent field names, making results more reliable and complete than old-style WHOIS output. The IANA bootstrap registry tells FetchWhois which RDAP server to query for each TLD, so every search hits the right authoritative source.
Note that WHOIS search is different from reverse WHOIS search. A standard WHOIS search queries by domain name and returns the record for that specific domain. Reverse WHOIS — searching for all domains owned by a registrant — is not supported by the public RDAP standard and requires proprietary paid services.
